SUMC is seeking a part-time Contemporary Service Worship Leader to direct the weekly contemporary worship service.

Description: We’re looking for a Christ-centered servant leader who will provide an engaging, meaningful, and high-quality worship experience for members and guests. Here are some of the things that you’ll be responsible for:

  • Directly oversee the detailed planning, preparation, and execution of worship music for the Contemporary Worship Service (vocalists, instrumentalists, performance and rehearsal responsibilities, special events and religious holidays such as Christmas Eve and Easter)

  • Ability to play a lead instrument (either piano or guitar) and provide accompaniment for praise team members and solo vocalists as needed.

  • Create excitement and a spiritually enriching environment to increase attendance and grow membership from the surrounding community.

  • Assist with the planning and overseeing of special worship services that include music.

  • Develop media for weekly services, including song lyrics, video clips, all elements of production for the contemporary worship service to include new music.

  • Communicate with other praise team band members arranging practice times, music selection, etc.

  • Recruit, manage, motivate, and equip volunteers.

Contemporary Service Worship Leader

Youth Director

SUMC is seeking a part-time Youth Director. As the Youth Director, this person will work with dedicated and motivated adult volunteers and the youth ministry team, to provide an engaging, meaningful, and high-quality experience for the youth.

​

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity and a continual desire to personally grow in the likeness of Jesus Christ.

  • Must have a sincere desire to lead, mentor, and provide an outstanding example for young people.

  • Experience as a youth leader or in other leadership capacities within a church or educational environment

  • Work or volunteer experience in churches working with pastoral leadership

  • Great team player who understands the importance of working together and developing trust within and between groups

  • Must obtain a commercial driver's license to operate church vehicles

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred

 

Job Details:

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 29 per week

Work Location: In person
